Island in the Sun
The American dream, brought to you by plastics!
Positioned between elegy and critique, Island in the Sun reflects on the cultural construction of the American dream as something both materially abundant and structurally unstable. The installation captures a suspended moment, an image of paradise held just before its dissolution, quietly acknowledging the exhaustion of the systems that sustain it. What remains is not a site of rest, but a fragile accumulation of forms, caught between nostalgia and entropy, where comfort and precarity become indistinguishable.
