artwork > Laura

Laura is a series of 9 charcoal drawings documenting the morning after Hurricane Laura in 2020, all taken from the former site of George W. Stokes Oil, located on the Tchefuncte River in Madisonville, LA. Focusing on the sublime and strangeness of how a hurricane can disrupt your perspective of the everyday, feelings of disorientation and seeing how everything beneath your feet is constantly shifting, seeing something everyday and then it being in a completely different place where it doesn’t belong.
